Project 2
The thinking skill of this project was perspective. I chose this topic because I am fascinated by sharks. I watch shark week every year and there are always showing research of sharks and shark attacks, two completely different sides of the animal. I went off of the idea that sharks aren't as scary as people perceive them as. To explain this I wanted to create projects that shows sharks from different perspectives, unlike the man-eating beasts that movies and society has manifested them as. I learned more about sharks through facts that they aren't aggressive and purposely attack humans, they are just trying to survive as much as we are.
Art
Trial Resin PourThe first step would be to do a trial pour of resin to test border materials and the amount of resin. For the mold of this one I used foam core which the resin stuck to when taking it out of the mold.

Final Resin MoldThis is the mold for the final resin pour. It is bordered with plexiglass instead of foam core. It is also a lot larger than the trial.

Final Resin SculptureFor the final resin piece I wanted to show the peacefulness of the ocean. I wanted to show the perspective from a scuba diver who is fascinated by sharks. This will show that sharks shouldn't be seen as man-eaters in which society shows them as.
